Hi! My name is MJ.

I do global product strategy, industrial design, ethnographic user research, and product innovation at Meyer Labs.

Product Innovation, Strategy, & Design at Meyer Labs

Meyer Labs, based out of Meyer‘s design headquarters in Hong Kong, is a  team of food-loving designers, engineers, and researchers whose mission is to promote innovation, human-centrism, and design thinking at Meyer, a leading global cookware manufacturer. I joined in 2013 as the founding member and now I head up strategy for the team, with a focus on product innovations, design, and storytelling.

My favorite part of the job is traveling around the world to do cultural / anthropological / design research on how people in different regions cook differently, and synthesizing that research into product design concepts!

My team’s proudest accomplishments at Meyer have been:
+ Winning two Red Dot Awards for Product Design in 2021
+ Winning the Pentaward Bronze 2021
+ Designing our company’s innovation labs
+ Rebranding of one of our key brands for a new online era, and giving it a design philosophy worth believing in
+ Building a truly innovative product portfolio for that brand
+ Creating a robust design research process, centered on the user experience, with meaningful innovations as the ultimate goal

We’re using human-centered design techniques and barrier-breaking attitudes in our projects to do things no one else in the industry is doing. Stay tuned!
